While our Artists receive education at the New Artists Academy, it is not a cosmetology school. All Juut artists at the New Artists Academy have graduated from cosmetology school.  Once they graduate school, they apply to Juut and are interviewed for the position before they are hired at the Academy.

As a result of their achievements, our professionals work at three levels: studio, senior, and master. While prices vary accordingly, every Juut artist is constantly improving through ongoing education. Whatever level you seek, you'll enjoy superior service with a touch to make your day.

We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, personal checks, Juut Salonspa gift cards, and cash for payment of services. While we accept American Express for in-salon services and products, we do not accept it for online transactions.

Tipping for service at a salon is typically handled as you would tipping for service in a restaurant. Generally 10-20% of the total service is appropriate, depending upon how you feel the quality of service was. Tipping is appreciated by our artists as a reward for a job well done, but is not required.

What is a Two Week Manicure?

The Two Week Manicure is a breakthrough, patent-pending UV3 technology that combines the ease of polish with the permanence of gels. No other products in the market can stand up to the claim – on like polish, wears like gel, off in minutes.

 

Is the Shellac Two Week Manicure formula “3-Free”?

Yes. Shellac does not include Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate).

 

Is there any odor to the Two Week Manicure?

During application, you may notice a slight odor that is less intense than nail polish. After curing in the lamp, residual odor does not remain.

 

Does a Two Week Manicure removal damage the natural nail?

No. This treatment was developed and tested for years to perfect every aspect of the process, including removal.

 

Will a Two Week Manicure last longer than 14 days?

Yes, however you will notice a “line of demarcation” as your natural nail grows away from the cuticle. It is recommended that you adhere to a 14 day re-application appointment, as the adhesion will increase if worn past this point, making the removal process a little more lengthy.

 

Will soaps or other personal grooming products affect the wearability?

No. The treatment was developed and tested to withstand the rigors of daily wear.

 

Can I remove my own Two Week Manicure?

It is not recommended. To ensure the health of the natural nail, the polish removal is a professional only service and only trained nail professionals should apply and remove. Removal is included in the price of a new application at Juut. If you are not reapplying a Two Week Manicure, a nominal removal fee of $20 will be charged.

Many of our most popular artists and therapists are industry leaders and maintain a steady clientele. To guarantee an appointment with your favorite artist, simply schedule it well in advance, even if that means scheduling it before leaving the salon. We call it prebooking your appointment. This guarantees availability with your service provider at a date and time that is most convenient to you.

Juut Salonspa is the original Aveda concept salon, but we are not Aveda. We use and sell Aveda products in our salonspas, as do other Aveda concept salons throughout the world. We are proud to partner with Aveda and offer their full line of products in each of our eight salons and spas.

Yes. Horst sold his salons to David Wagner in 1991. In 1999 we changed our name to Juut Salonspa.

In the beginning, over three decades ago, we were part of the Aveda Corporation and known as the Horst Salons. At that time we were the first and only salons to carry the Aveda product line. Since 1991, we have been independently owned and operated by David Wagner. David, a hairstylist, entrepreneur, educator and author, has worked to assemble a team of technical experts and trend advisors who share his philosophy of serving others with the intent of providing replenishment. In 1999 we changed our name to Juut Salonspa.

No.  The pricing of haircuts at Juut are based on the experience level of the service provider, and not the length of the client’s hair.  Men experience the same level of service as women at Juut Salonspa and therefore are charged the same price for the service. Our artists receive advanced training on men's hair trends and cutting, so be assured that you will receive only the highest quality service at Juut.

No. Washing the hair strips away its natural oils. When adding color or creating an updo, the natural oils in the hair give it better holding properties and make it easier to work with. While hair should be clean, it is best to not wash your hair the morning of your service.

Yes. Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage, but doctor's approval is advisable. Please be sure to notify your Juut therapist that you are pregnant before your appointment. Juut artists are trained in the side-lying massage position for pregnancy massage.

When arriving for your scheduled massage appointment, you will be greeted by our staff and given full instructions on how to prepare for your massage. Our therapists explain the entire process in detail so that you can make informed decisions regarding your individual preferences and needs for the service to maximize your comfort level. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to allow adequate time to check-in for your appointment and begin relaxing.

We recommend that you schedule full day of spa appointments four weeks in advance to be sure you get the ideal date, time, and services that you desire.

Yes. Juut Gift Cards are available in any dollar amount, do not expire, and are redeemable for products, services or both at any Juut Salonspa location. Juut Gift Cards are not valid at other Aveda concept salons.

What are hair extensions?

The hair extension service is a service where pieces of hair are bonded to the ends of your natural hair to create a long hair look or add thickness to your natural hair. At Juut we offer Capelli Hair Extensions, Great Lengths Hair Extensions, and Platinum Seamless Hair Extensions.

 

Are hair extensions real hair or synthetic hair?

All hair extensions offered at Juut are 100% authentic human hair.

 

How do the hair extensions stay in my hair?

Hair extensions are bonded to your natural hair with a unique keratin protein bond (Capelli or Great Lengths) or adhesive bond strips (Platinum Seamless)

 

Will hair extensions cause damage to my natural hair?

Hair extensions, if applied and removed correctly, are non-damaging to your natural hair.

 

Will people be able to see the extension bonds?

Juut Salonspa utilizes Capelli, Great Lengths, and Platinum Seamless hair extensions because we feel these extensions are the most natural looking extension processes we can offer to our clients.  They blend very well with your natural hair and look completely natural.

 

How much do hair extensions cost?

A hair extension application first requires a complimentary consultation from a Juut extension specialist who will inspect your hair’s condition and discuss with you your desired outcome.  The price will vary based on thickness of your hair, the texture, and the length you wish to achieve.  A lengthening service generally starts at $1500.  Services for fullness, adding highlights and dimension, or a few flashes of vibrant color can cost considerably less than a lengthening service.

 

Do I pay for the service all at once?

You are required to pay for one half of the total quoted price of the service at the time of the consultation when booking the appointment.  A credit card number will be taken for the balance of the service n the event you cancel the service less than 48 hours prior to the appointment.  Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to the appointment will be fully refunded.

 

How long does the hair extension service take?

A hair extension application can vary in length of time, depending on the amount of hair you want and the thickness of your natural hair and the type of extensions you choose. Your artist will discuss this with you during your complimentary consultation.

 

Do I need a haircut after the extension application?

A haircut is required to complete the hair extension service to blend the extensions with your natural hair and create a beautiful, natural looking style.  The haircut price is not included in the quoted price for the hair extension service.

 

What if my hair is colored, permed, or relaxed?

If you color, perm, or relax your hair it is important that you have this done one week prior to the application of your extensions.  We strongly recommend that you return to Juut for all chemical services while you are wearing Juut extensions to ensure that professionals most familiar with your type of extensions are performing the service.

 

With hair extensions, will I be able to blow dry, straighten, or curl my hair?

Hair dryers, curling Irons, flat irons and hot rollers are safe to use with hair extensions.  Be prepared for your regular styling routine to change – longer, thicker hair does take more time to style.

 

How long will my hair extensions last?

Hair extensions will last approximately two to six months, depending on individual hair growth and the type of hair extension service done.

 

How are the hair extensions removed?

Hair extensions require professional removal by appointment with your Juut Extensions Specialist.  Removal can take anywhere from two to six hours based on the number of extensions and the maintenance of the extensions during wear.  An hourly fee is charged for removal.

 

Will any of my hair extensions fall out?

Some extension loss is normal and to be expected.
