Kristin Kosieracki, Makeup Artist from Juut St. Paul, walks us through one of the most popular looks from our recent Makeup Events. This look, called Red Dahlia, is created using Aveda’s new limited-edition winter collection “Passion Flower."

Step 1: Prep the eye with inner light concealer on the eyelid as a base. This liquid concealer dries as a powder finish making it a great base for eye shadow.
Step 2: Apply bittersweet eye shadow directly on the lid, from lashes to crease using a medium shadow brush.
Step 3:
Use the night iris shadow on the contour of the eye along the entire length of the eye using the contour brush.
Step 4:
Highlight under the brow bone and the inner corners of the eyes with callalily shadow.
Step 5:
Line the eyes with brown velvet rose shadow. Use the same to fill in the eyebrows.
Step 6:
Finish with AVEDA black forest mosscara.
Top knots are a hair trend that's here to stay! This easy and chic look can be seen everywhere lately:

Wondering how to achieve this look (without taking a sock off your foot and into your hair)? Thanks to Dana, Color Specialist in Edina, for teaching this super easy technique to top knot your own hair!
Here's what you will need:

8 easy steps to top knot:

Steps:
1.) Start with brushed, straight or wavy hair.
2.) Gather hair into a high, smooth ponytail.
3.) Spread ponytail evenly on top of your head.
4.) (Optional) Tease the base of the ponytail, as this can help fill in holes.
5.) Wrap another elastic around base of your ponytail leaving ends sticking out still.
6.) Wrap loose ends around the base of bun. Secure with a pin.
7.) Pull the bun towards your scalp, piece by piece, and secure the hair to your head with pins.
8.) Continue step 7 until all sections are secure to your head. Finish with Air control hair spray.
We recently spotted a perfect summer-to-fall transitional outfit on Juutie, Kristi, at the New Artist's Academy. From her pretty blouse, to her pencil pants, to her perfectly matching nails, Kristi was dressed to the 9's for a day at the salon or out to dinner with friends.

In addition to her perfectly planned outfit, Kristi tames her locks daily with her must-have AVEDA products: Phomollient, Daily Hair Repair & Air Control.
