Angels + Divas

The night of October 5th drew a community of Daymakers to the St. Paul Hotel in support of the annual Angels + Divas event benefiting the Angel Foundation. The Angel Foundation donates their proceeds to deserving individuals affected by cancer and in need of resources for non-medical expenses. Not only does this foundation help with financial strain, but through their funds they ease outside stress during difficult times. Through ticket sales, sponsorships, silent auction items and a Life as a Daymaker book signing, Angels + Divas raised thousands of dollars this year.

As a sponsor, Juut assembled a team of stylists and makeup artists to donate their time and talent to prepare models for the main event – the fashion show! Master Stylist at Juut Downtown, Woody Theis, and her team of Juut artists readied models with fabulous hair and eye-catching makeup. It was the perfect combination to the stunning outfits worn down the runway from local boutiques such as La Rue Marche', Cynthia Rae, Hammer Made, and fashion consultant Linda Anderson.

The 2011 fashion show included many models that are cancer survivors and proved to be fashionably energetic, yet extraordinarily moving. Like many of the models, David Wagner, Keynote Speaker of the evening and Owner + Founder of Juut Salonspas, is also a cancer survivor. For many in the audience, it was the first time they’d heard his story. Not only inspirational for those affected with cancer, but inspiring for every day living. David spoke of his emotions surrounding his diagnosis, the impact it had on his family, and the affect cancer has had on his life.

The evening ended with a standing ovation as David concluded his heartfelt presentation on living life as a Daymaker – a topic relevant to every person in the audience that night.
